Competition between Single-Particle and Collective Excitations in N = 88 Nuclei: Measurement of g(4₁⁺)/g(2₁⁺) in ¹⁵²Gd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁵²Gd(³²S, ³²S'), E=100 MeV; ¹⁵²Gd(⁵⁸Ni, ⁵⁸Ni'), E=180, 212.5 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ(θ, H, t) following Coulomb excitation. ¹⁵²Gd levels deduced g factors, single-particle, collective contributions. Transient field technique.
