On the synthesis of neutron-rich isotopes along the N = 126 shell in multinucleon transfer reactions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁷Pb(⁶⁴Ni, x), E=4.80-5.92 MeV/nucleon; measured Eα, Iα, Eγ, Iγ from deep-inelastic fragments using SHIP; deduced γ transitions. Os, Ir, Pt, Au, Hg, Tl deduced isotope production σ; calculated isotope production σ using stochastic approach and Langevine-type dynamical equations. Cross sections compared with ²⁰⁸Pb(⁶⁴Ni, x) thick target and fragmentation data.
