High-Spin g Factors and Proton Alignment in 180, 182, 184Pt

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Gd(29Si, X)180Pt/182Pt/184Pt, E=145 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ(θ, H, t) following implantation into a cold ferromagnetic Gd host and under the presence of a variable magnetic field. 180,182,184Pt deduced average g factors for high-spin states. Transient field technique, comparison with nearby nuclei.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 166Hf, 184Pt; calculated high-spin rotational band g factors as a function of angular momentum; deduced effect of proton and neutron alignment. Comparison with data.
