Measurement of the 230Th(p, 2n)229Pa and 230Th(p, 3n)228Pa reaction cross sections from 14.1 to 16.9 MeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 230Th(p, 2n)229Pa, (p, 3n)228Pa, 232Th(p, n)232Pa, E=14.1, 14.4, 14.9, 15.7, 16.0, 16.9 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, production σ(E) using the activation method at the 10 MV tandem accelerator facility of Center for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (CAMS) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Comparison with the literature values, and with calculations using TENDL 2019 code. Relevance to production of 225Ac for medical applications.

RADIOACTIVITY 228,229Pa(EC)[from 230Th(p, 2n), (p, 3n), E=14.1-16.9 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, half-lives of decays of 228Pa and 229Pa. Comparison with the values in the ENSDF database.
