Synthesis of cold and trappable fully stripped highly charged ions via antiproton-induced nuclear fragmentation in traps

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁹F, ⁵⁹Co, ¹⁶⁵Ho, ¹⁸¹Ta, ¹⁸⁴W, ¹⁸⁸Os, ¹⁹⁷Au, ²¹⁰Po, ²²²Rn, ²²⁶Ra, ²³²Th, ²³⁵U, ^238,244Pu(p-bar, X), E at rest; calculated production rates for nuclear fragments produced in the process of annihilation of captured antiprotons by target nuclei, charge-weighted energy distribution of fragments. Proposed a scheme for the production of a range of trappable radioisotopes based on pulsed production of antiprotonic atoms. GEANT4 based simulations.
