Synthesis of cold and trappable fully stripped highly charged ions via antiproton-induced nuclear fragmentation in traps

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 19F, 59Co, 165Ho, 181Ta, 184W, 188Os, 197Au, 210Po, 222Rn, 226Ra, 232Th, 235U, 238,244Pu(p-bar, X), E at rest; calculated production rates for nuclear fragments produced in the process of annihilation of captured antiprotons by target nuclei, charge-weighted energy distribution of fragments. Proposed a scheme for the production of a range of trappable radioisotopes based on pulsed production of antiprotonic atoms. GEANT4 based simulations.
