Optimization of the number of intrinsic states included in the discrete generator coordinate method

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ⁴⁰Ca, ⁸⁰Sr, ¹⁸⁶Pb; calculated levels, J, π, ground-state energies, total energies as a function of the axial quadrupole deformation. ¹⁸⁶Pb; calculated energies of 0⁺ states. Calculations based on discrete generator coordinate method (GCM) with Gogny D1S energy density functional and the axial quadrupole deformation as the GCM degree of freedom.
