Applications of Photonuclear Physics for International Safeguards and Security

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²³⁹Pu(γ, γ'), E=0-5.5 MeV[from HIGS (High-Intensity Gamma-ray Source) using bremsstrahlung spectra with endpoint energy 4.0-5.5 MeV]; measured thick target Eγ, Iγ using HPGe. ²³⁹Pu deduced prompt γ transitions.²⁷Al, ⁵⁵Mn, ⁵⁶Fe(γ, γ'), E=0-5.5 MeV;¹H, ¹⁴N, ³⁵Cl, ^52,53Cr(n, γ), E=background;⁵⁵Mn, ⁵⁶Fe(n, n'γ), E=background; measured Eγ, Iγ. ²⁸Al, ⁵⁶Fe deduced β-delayed γ transitions (NRF - Nuclear Resonance Fluorescence) peaks.
