RADIOACTIVITY ²²⁹Th(IT); analyzed available data; deduced electric dipole transitions changing both the electronic and nuclear states that are opened by the nuclear hyperfine mixing, and using them for efficient isomer excitation in Li-like ²²⁹Th ions, via stimulated Raman adiabatic passage or single-laser excitation.

Z=9-92; calculated resonant cross sections for producing ns pionic states, partial Γ_γ for 1s pionic states, Γ_γ/Γ(total) of ns pionic states for final nuclei of Z=9-92.
