Search for inverse fission of uranium

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁰⁰Mo(¹²⁴Sn, X)²²²U, E=595, 650 MeV; ¹⁰⁰Mo (¹³²Sn, X)²³⁰U, E=560 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, (ER)α-coin, cross section upper limits; calculated σ(E). ⁹⁶Zr(¹²⁴Sn, X), E=200-280 MeV; comparison between measured and predicted σ(E). Statistical model calculations. No evidence for inverse fission.
