Coherent Photoproduction of Neutral Pions in Nuclei as a Detector of Nuclear Pionic Modes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁶O(π⁺, π⁺), (π^-, π^-), E=303 MeV; calculated averaged σ(θ). ¹⁶O(π⁺, π⁺), (π^-, π^-), E ≈ 160-500 MeV; ¹²C(π⁺, π⁺), (π^-, π^-), E ≈ 200-500 MeV; calculated averaged σ(E). ⁴He, ¹²C, ¹⁶O(γ, π⁰); calculated σ(E). ¹²C(γ, π⁰), E=235 MeV; calculated σ(θ). Coherent production.
