Role of baryon resonances in the π^- p → ne⁺e^- reaction within an effective-Lagrangian model

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹H(π^-, ne⁺e^-), E=1.49 GeV; calculated widths and other parameters of baryonic resonances, differential cross sections, Born contribution to differential cross section, hadronic density-matrix elements; investigated model of the dilepton production process in pion-nucleon collisions in the second resonance region. Effective Lagrangian model with vector-meson dominant (VMD) electromagnetic interaction of hadrons. Relevance to recent experiments by the HADES collaboration.
