Measurement of the free neutron lifetime using the neutron spectrometer on NASA's Lunar Prospector mission

RADIOACTIVITY 1n(β-); measured E(n), I(n), T1/2 of decay of free neutron using neutron spectrometer consisting of two cylindrical gas proportional counters of 3He on NASA's Lunar Prospector spacecraft during the elliptical orbits in 1998-99; feasibility of precise measurement of T1/2 of free neutron from space, with an earlier measurement reported in 2020 using NASA's MESSENGER data. Comparison with recommended half-life by the Particle Data Group.

Space-based measurement of the neutron lifetime using data from the neutron spectrometer on NASA's MESSENGER mission
