Effect of rotation in the γ-ray emission from 60 meV polarized neutron-induced fission of the 235U isotope

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 235U(polarized n, F), E=60 meV monochromatic polarized neutron beam provided by the POLI diffractometer at the Heinz Meyer-Leibniz FRM II research reactor of the Munich Technical University; measured fission fragments using low-pressure position-sensitive multiwire proportional counters (LPMWPC), γ(θ) of prompt fission γ rays; deduced rotation angle of the fission axis, and magnitude and sign of the asymmetry parameter for the effect of rotation (ROT) in the angular distribution of prompt γ rays from the fission of 235U.
