Neutrino energy reconstruction from one-muon and one-proton events

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C, Ar(ν, μ-p), (ν-bar, nμ+), E≈1GeV; proposed method to select a high-purity sample of muon neutrino charged current quasielastic (CCQE) scattering events; method tested with GENIE, NEUT, and NUWRO Monte Carlo event generators. Relevance to experiments such as T2K, MINERvA, ArgoNeuT, MicroBooNE, and DUNE for neutrino oscillation studies with neutrino beams of a few GeV.
