Production cross section and decay study of 243Es and 249Md

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(48Ca, 2n)243Es, E=208, 210 MeV; 203Tl(48Ca, 2n)249Md, E=212.7, 214.3 MeV; measured reaction products, Eα, Iα, (recoil)α-coin, (recoil)αα-correlations, production σ(E) using RITU separator for recoils at the University of Jyvaskyla. Comparison of measured production σ(E) with calculations using the KEWPIE2 statistical fusion-evaporation code. Systematics of fusion-evaporation σ in the 2n channel.

RADIOACTIVITY 243Es(α)[from 197Au(48Ca, 2n), E=208, 210 MeV followed by separation of fragments using RITU separator at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla (JYFL); 249Md(α)[from 203Tl(48Ca, 2n), E=212.7, 214.3 MeV]; 245Es(α)[α daughter of 249Md decay]; measured Eα, Iα, recoils, (recoils)α-correlations, half-lives and α-decay branching ratios for α decays of ground states of 243,245Es, 249Md. Comparison with previously measured values, and with theoretical predictions.
