High precision measurement of the half-life of the 391.6 keV metastable level in ²³⁹Pu

RADIOACTIVITY ²³⁹Np(β^-)[from ²³⁹U(β^-) obtained after irradiation of ²³⁸U with neutrons at TRIGA Mark II reactor (Padova)]; measured decay products, Eβ, Iβ, ce, x-ray spectra, Eγ, Iγ, βγ-coin. ²³⁹Pu; deduced T_1/2 of the 7/2^- 391.6 keV level. Half-life extracted from time differences between β^- (trigger event) and IC/γ (delayed event). GeSparK setup - liquid scintillation coupled to HPGe detector. Comparison to previous experimental value.
