Searching for states analogous to the 12C Hoyle state in heavier nuclei using the thick target inverse kinematics technique
NUCLEAR REACTIONS 4He(20Ne, α), (20Ne, 2α), (20Ne, 3α), (20Ne, 4α), E=13 MeV/nucleon; measured Eα, α(θ), αα-coin, and differential σ(θ) for resonant scattering using ΔE-E telescopes and thick target inverse kinematics (TTIK) technique at K150 cyclotron facility of Texas A and M University. 8Be, 12C, 16O, 24Mg; deduced levels, J, π, multi-α condensed states, widths, evidence for a level in 16O at 15.2 MeV analogous to Hoyle state in 12C. Comparison with PACE4 and HIPSE simulations, and with experimental results.
