Searching for states analogous to the ¹²C Hoyle state in heavier nuclei using the thick target inverse kinematics technique

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁴He(²⁰Ne, α), (²⁰Ne, 2α), (²⁰Ne, 3α), (²⁰Ne, 4α), E=13 MeV/nucleon; measured Eα, α(θ), αα-coin, and differential σ(θ) for resonant scattering using ΔE-E telescopes and thick target inverse kinematics (TTIK) technique at K150 cyclotron facility of Texas A and M University. ⁸Be, ¹²C, ¹⁶O, ²⁴Mg; deduced levels, J, π, multi-α condensed states, widths, evidence for a level in ¹⁶O at 15.2 MeV analogous to Hoyle state in ¹²C. Comparison with PACE4 and HIPSE simulations, and with experimental results.
