Investigation of negative-parity states in 156Dy: Search for evidence of tetrahedral symmetry

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 148Nd(12C, 4n), E=65 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO) using GAMMASPHERE array at ATLAS-ANL facility. 156Dy; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarities, negative-parity bands, alignments, configurations, B(E2)/B(E1) ratios and octupole excitations, no evidence for tetrahedral symmetry. Systematics of Kπ=0-, 3- and Kπ=1-, 4- states in N=90 isotones 152Sm, 154Gd, 156Dy and 160Yb.
