NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁴⁸Nd(¹²C, 4n), E=65 MeV; measured E(γ), γγ-coin, I(γ)(θ). ¹²⁴Sn(³⁶S, 4n), E=155 MeV; measured E(γ), γγ-coin, I(γ)(30°)/I(γ)(90°). ¹⁵⁶Dy deduced levels, I(γ), J, π, rotational band characteristics. Enriched targets, Ge(Li)-NaI(Tl) and Ge-NaI(Tl) escape-suppressed detectors, bismuth germanate crystal ball. Cranked-shell model calculations.

Investigation of negative-parity states in ¹⁵⁶Dy: Search for evidence of tetrahedral symmetry

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁴⁸Nd(¹²C, 4n), E=65 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO) using GAMMASPHERE array at ATLAS-ANL facility. ¹⁵⁶Dy; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarities, negative-parity bands, alignments, configurations, B(E2)/B(E1) ratios and octupole excitations, no evidence for tetrahedral symmetry. Systematics of Kπ=0-, 3- and Kπ=1-, 4- states in N=90 isotones ¹⁵²Sm, ¹⁵⁴Gd, ¹⁵⁶Dy and ¹⁶⁰Yb.
