β-delayed fission and α decay of ¹⁷⁸Tl

RADIOACTIVITY ¹⁷⁸Tl(α), (EC), (β⁺), (SF)[from U(p, X), E=1.4 GeV]; measured Eα, Iα, Eγ, x rays, αγ-coin, αα-correlations, β-delayed fission fragment spectra, half-life of ¹⁷⁸Tl using RILIS source, HRS and GPS separators at ISOLDE-CERN facility. ¹⁷⁴Au; deduced levels, α reduced widths, multipolarity, conversion coefficient. ¹⁷⁸Tl; deduced J, π and Q(α) of g.s., α-, EC+β⁺, β-delayed fission probability, total kinetic energy of fission events. ¹⁷⁸Hg; deduced asymmetric fission of excited states populated in decay of ¹⁷⁸Tl, comparison with asymmetric fission of ¹⁸⁰Hg from ¹⁸⁰Tl decay. Viola systematics of total kinetic energies vs fissility parameter for ^178,180Hg and heavier actinides.
