β-delayed fission and α decay of 178Tl

RADIOACTIVITY 178Tl(α), (EC), (β+), (SF)[from U(p, X), E=1.4 GeV]; measured Eα, Iα, Eγ, x rays, αγ-coin, αα-correlations, β-delayed fission fragment spectra, half-life of 178Tl using RILIS source, HRS and GPS separators at ISOLDE-CERN facility. 174Au; deduced levels, α reduced widths, multipolarity, conversion coefficient. 178Tl; deduced J, π and Q(α) of g.s., α-, EC+β+, β-delayed fission probability, total kinetic energy of fission events. 178Hg; deduced asymmetric fission of excited states populated in decay of 178Tl, comparison with asymmetric fission of 180Hg from 180Tl decay. Viola systematics of total kinetic energies vs fissility parameter for 178,180Hg and heavier actinides.
