Spectroscopy of the proton drip-line nucleus ²⁰³Fr

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁶⁹Tm(⁴⁰Ar, 6n), E=205 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, Eα, Iα, E(ce), I(ce), (recoils)α-, (recoils)γ-, (ce)γ-, (ce)α-coin, T_1/2 using RITU separator, GREAT spectrometer and JUROGAM array at JYFL facility. ²⁰³Fr; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarity, B(M2), B(E3), configuration. Recoil-decay tagging (RDT) technique. ¹⁶⁹Tm, ^203,204Rn, ²⁰⁴Fr; observed prompt γ rays. Systematics of low-lying negative-parity states in ^{203,205,207,209,211}Fr together with yrast positive-parity states in ^{198,200,202,204,206,208,210,212}Rn.

RADIOACTIVITY ²⁰³Fr, ¹⁹⁹At(α)[from ¹⁶⁹Tm(⁴⁰Ar, 6n)²⁰³Fr, E=205 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, Eα, Iα, E(ce), I(ce), (recoils)α-, (recoils)γ-, (recoils)(ce)-, γγ-, (ce)α-, (ce)γ-coin, T_1/2, α branching ratio using RITU separator, GREAT spectrometer and JUROGAM array at JYFL. ²⁰³Fr, ¹⁹⁹At, ¹⁹⁵Bi; deduced levels, J, π. ¹⁹⁸At, ^202,204Fr; measured Eα, T_1/2. Systematics of 13/2+ and 1/2+ states in N=102-126 Bi, At and Fr nuclei. ^199,200Po, ^200,201At, ^202,203,204Rn(α); measured α spectrum.
