Fragmentation and systematics of the pygmy dipole resonance in the stable N=82 isotones

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 136Xe(γ, γ'), E=8.0, 9.2 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ) at DHIPS facility. 136Xe; deduced levels, J, π, partial decay widths, B(E1). Comparison with Quasiparticle phonon model calculations. Systematics of measured and calculated B(E1) strengths for pygmy dipole resonances (PDR) in N=82 isotones 136Xe, 138Ba, 140Ce, 142Nd, and 144Sm. Discussed fragmentation of E1 strength.
