Radiative lifetime and energy of the low-energy isomeric level in ²²⁹Th

RADIOACTIVITY ^229mTh(IT); analyzed data for 3/2+ low-energy isomer at 7.8 eV in ²²⁹Th; estimated range of the radiative half-life, transition energy, and B(M1) from phenomenological calculations based on available experimental data for level energies and B(M1) rates in ²²⁹Th and ²³³U for transitions between similar Nilsson states. Discussed new measurements to resolve long-standing issues about the decay of ²²⁹Th isomer.
