Position
Nuclear Reaction Data Physicist (S-2, Associate Scientist)
Description
The National Nuclear Data Center at the Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a dynamic PhD nuclear physicist interested
in applied low-energy nuclear reaction physics, with emphasize on data compilation and data evaluation.
Will be involved in compilation of experimental data for the nuclear reaction data library CSISRS (EXFOR), and evaluation of
nuclear reaction data for the ENDF/B library. Must be available for extensive international collaboration and active interaction with nuclear data community.
Requirements
Requires a Ph.D. in nuclear physics, followed by 5 years ofexperience in low energy nuclearreaction physics research (either experimental or theoretical)
and strong interest in compilation of experimental nuclear reaction data. Expected is solid background in nuclear reaction physics with nucleons and light ions
up to about 200 MeV (neutron resonances, optical model, level densities, statistical model, direct and pre-equilibrium models), and capabilities of using
complex nuclear reaction model codes for nuclear reaction data evaluations.
Applications
Detailed CV including list of publications should be submitted to Pavel Oblozinsky, (Head, National Nuclear Data Center)
