234PU c 2006AS03: |a decays of {+238}Cm produced by {+237}Np({+6}Li,xn) was
234PU2c studied using a gas-jet coupled isotope separator on-line (ISOL) at
234PU3c JAEA tandem. A stack of 21 {+237}Np targets set in a multiple-target
234PU4c chamber with 5 mm spacings was bombarded with a {+6}Li beam. Each
234PU5c target thickness is 100 |mg/cm{+2} and electro-deposited on a 0.8
234PU6c mg/cm{+2} aluminum foil. The beam energy varies between 41-48 MeV
234PU7c depending on the target. Reaction products recoiling out of the
234PU8c targets were stopped in helium gas loaded with PbI{-2} clusters and
234PU9c transported into an ion source of the ISOL with gas-jet stream
234PUac through an 8-m long capillary. Atoms ionized in the surface
234PUbc ionization-type thermal ion source were accelerated with 30 kV and
234PUcc mass-separated. The separated ions were implanted into an
234PUdc aluminum-coated Mylar tape in a tape transport system that
234PUec periodically moved the implanted sources to seven consecutive
234PUfc detector stations at 3000 second intervals. Each of the detector
234PUgc stations was equipped with a Si PIN photodiode detector and |a
234PUhc particles were detected. The |g-rays were measured with a short
234PUic coaxial Ge detector. The measured |a decay curve indicates the
234PUjc T{-{1/2}}=2.2 {I4} h. The energy difference of |a decays to the
234PUkc {+234}Pu ground state and the first excited state (2{++}) indicates
234PUlc the excited state's energy is 56 {I7} keV
234PU c 1952Hi63: |a-decays of {+238}Cm were measured with pulse analyzer and
234PU2c emulsions, The {+238}Cm were produced by bombarding {+239}Pu with
234PU3c 70-80 MeV Helium ions and chemically separated.

234PU5cN from disintegration and |a-decay rates. They estimated that possible
