228U c T{-1/2} measured in 2000La25 using |a-|a coincidence data. The source
228U 2c was produced in the reaction {+233}U({+3}He,4n){+232}Pu
228U 3c Others: T{-1/2}({+232}Pu)=34.1 min {I7} (1973Ja06),
228U 4c 36 min {I2} (1952Or03).
228U c
228U c From x-ray and |a counts, the |e/|a branching ratio was
228U 2c deduced by 1952Or03 as <60 (this ratio yields %|a>1.6) and an
228U 3c approximate upper limit of 20% was estimated by 1973Ja06. The |a
228U 4c branching of 20% was adopted by 1991Sc08. This branch, together with
228U 5c I|a(6600|a)=62 per 100 |a decays, gives r{-0}=1.508.
228U c The r{-0} systematics suggests r{-0}({+228}U)=1.518 {I10} for the
228U 2c nuclear radius parameter from which the |a branch of {+232}Pu is
228U 3c calculated as 23% {I6} by requiring HF(6600|a)=1.0, if I|a(6600|a)=67%
228U 4c {I5} of |a decays. By considering the consistencies between the
228U 5c experimental observations and the |a systematics, %|a=23 {I6} is
228U xc recommended here.
228U c The gross-|b calculations by 1973Ta30 predict T{-1/2}(|e)=5000 s which
228U 2c yields %|e=40.9.
228U c The partial half-life of {+232}Pu |b{++} decay has been
228U 2c calculated by 1997Mo25 as >100 s.

228U cA E Measured by 1973Ja06.
228U cA IA |a intensity per 100 |a decays. The intensities given
228U 2cA here are calculated by requiring that HF(6542|a)=1.1 {I4}, obtained
228U 3cA from local systematics of hindrance factors of |a's to
228U 4cA the first 2+ states. The authors of 1973Ja06 estimated
228U 5cA I|a(6600|a to g.s.)|?62 from extrapolation of g.s. |a intensities from
228U 6cA other Pu isotopes; this intensity gives HF(2+ state)|?0.9, in
228U 7cA agreement with the value obtained from HF systematics.
228U cA HF r{-0}({+228}U)=1.518 {I10} for %|a=23 {I6} and
228U xcA I|a(6600|a)=67 {I5}%
