224AC c 1993Sh07 (also 1991Sh14,2004Sh25,2008Sh18): {+228}Pa produced in
224AC2c {+232}Th(p,5n) at 200 MeV followed by chemical separation. Measured
224AC3c E|a, I|a, E|g, I|g, ce, |a|g-, and |a(ce)-coin using Ge and Si(Li)

224AC6c discuss differences in the level schemes, bands and interpretation
224AC7c presented in 1993Sh07 and those in 1994Ah03
224AC c 1958Hi78: {+228}Pa formed in {+230}Th(d,4n) reaction; measured E|a,
224AC2c I|a, E|g. Deduced levels, hindrance factors.
224AC c Levels in {+224}Ac were first proposed in 1958Hi78 from |a decay
224AC2c of {+228}Pa to levels in {+224}Ac. 1993Sh07 first observed |g rays
224AC3c in singles and coincidence modes, and proposed a level scheme
224AC4c incorporating 34 |g rays out of a total of 45 |g rays observed.
224AC5c The authors interpreted level scheme in terms of parity-doublet
224AC6c (or reflection asymmetric) structures composed of K|p=0-, 0+, 3+,
224AC7c 3-, (1+) and (1-) bands. 1994Ah03 investigated in detail |g, ce and
224AC8c |a spectra in singles and coincidence modes using a much stronger
224AC9c source than in 1993Sh07, and reported 86 |g rays with 73 |g rays
224ACAc incorporated in a level scheme based essentially on coincidence
224ACBc data. For most levels the authors assigned only the parities based
224ACCc on gamma-ray multipolarities, but did not agree with K|p=0- and 0+
224ACDc parity-doublet bands proposed by 1993Sh07. Although energies and
224ACEc relative intensities of most |g rays reported in 1993Sh07 agreed
224ACFc with those in 1994Ah03, yet there were several differences in |g-ray
224ACGc placements. 2004Sh25 (also 2008Sh18) have further discussed these
224ACHc differences and proposed revised level schemes and band structures.
224AC c In this evaluation, the level scheme is essentially that proposed by
224AC2c 1994Ah03 with some modifications suggested in 2004Sh25. The band
224AC3c structures are taken essentially from 2004Sh25, but considered
224AC4c tentative at this stage. As pointed out in 1994Ah03 and 2004Sh25, the
224AC5c level scheme of {+224}Ac is very complex and many additional levels
224AC6c are expected. Thus the level scheme presented here is considered as
224AC7c incomplete. Information about confirmed multipolarities, mixing ratios
224AC8c and other spectroscopic details is lacking. Further experiments on
224AC9c the decay of {+228}Pa and involving nuclear reactions are needed to
224ACAc confirm and elucidate the structure of this nucleus.
