217AT c 1999Gr33: {+221}Fr was produced from {+225}Ac by the isotope generator
217AT2c technique, using {+229}Th material that was isolated from {+233}U and
217AT3c purified over five years. In one set of experiments, the source was
217AT4c placed in vacuum facing |a detector. In the second set, recoiling
217AT5c nuclei from {+225}Ac decay were collected on Al support and every
217AT6c 15 min transfered to the |a detector. Detectors: 100-mm{+2} Si(Au) with
217AT7c energy resolution of 20-25 keV and 84-cm{+3} HPGe detector with energy
217AT8c resolution of 1.0 keV at an energy of 150 keV. Measured: singles |a-
217AT9c and |g-ray spectra, and |a|g coin.
217AT c 1995Sh01: {+221}Fr was produced from {+225}Ac by the isotope generator
217AT2c technique, using a 3|mCi {+229}Th material. Recoiling nuclei from
217AT3c {+225}Ac decay were collected on a moving tape that brought the
217AT4c {+221}Fr activity in front of detectors. Detectors: 200-mm{+2} Si
217AT5c wafer, 100 |mm-thick with 16 keV energy resolution; a single coaxial
217AT6c Ge detector with a 0.5 mm Al window; 700-mm{+2}, 16-mm thick Si(Li)
217AT7c detector inside an axially increasing magnetic field for ce detection.
