186W 2c of the 198, 308, 418, 615 and 738, and 739 keV |g-rays.
186W c The decay scheme is based on that of 1973Gu02. However, evaluators has
186W 2c made several modifications in order to improve consistency with adopted
186W 3c level and |g properties; in particular, some placements proposed in
186W 4c 1973Gu02 have become untenable in the light of more precise E|g data
186W 5c from sources other than |b{+-} decay, and some I|g data from 1973Gu02
186W 6c imply branching which is inconsistent with adopted branching.
186W 7c Significant problems remain, especially above 1300~keV; new decay
186W 8c measurements with a purer source and much higher precision E|g data and
186W 9c extensive coincidence information would probably solve many of these.
186W ac Currently, almost-degenerate energy doublets must be proposed at 1322,
186W bc 1463, 1607 and 1628~keV because |b{+-} decay and (n,n'|g) studies
186W CC each report these levels but cannot agree on the gammas which deexcite
186W DC them. Such a density of close doublets seems unlikely. 1973Gu02 note
186W Ec that their results were correlated with the |g-|g data in 1969Mo16,
186W Fc 1970Pa16 ({+186}Ta |b- decay) and level energy data in (d,d')
186W Gc (1971Gu17). 1973Gu02 do not report |g-|g coin measurements in their
186W Hc work.
186W cB E$Measured |b endpoint energies are as follows: 2620~{I60}, 2240~{I60},
186W 2cB 1740~{I100} (complex) (1969Mo16); 3100~{I150} (5%), 2500~{I100} (32%),
186W 3cB 2100~{I100} (49%), 1500~{I200} (14%) (1970Pa16). The strongest group
186W 4cB (2240|b of 1969Mo16, 2100|b of 1970Pa16) populates primarily the 1661
186W 5cB level; each of the other groups presumably feeds a cluster of levels.
186W cB IB$From intensity imbalance at level. 1970Pa16 and 1969Mo16 report no
186W 2cB observable |b branches to the g.s. or to excited states below|?600~keV.
186W 3cB However, the intensity balance at the 122 level implies I|b=16~{I11},
186W 4cB so the evaluators show feeding of this level as tentative. Note that
186W 5cB weak branches should be accepted with caution in view of uncertainties
186W 6cB concerning placements for a number of the weaker gammas.
186W cG E(A)$Assignment to {+186}Ta |b{+-} decay is uncertain.

186W 2cG However, a branch with this intensity should also have been observable
186W 3cG in (n,n'|g) and is not reported there; also, this branching, combined
186W 4cG with measured B(E3)(1045 level), would imply T{-1/2}|?0.7~ns for that
186W 5cG level.
186W cG E(Y),RI(Y)$1973Gu02 place the 402|g from the 1284 level, based only on
186W 2cG E|g; however, I|g=1.5~{I5} is far too intense for consistency with
186W 3cG branching in (n,n'|g) or with nonobservance of such a branch in Coulomb
186W 4cG excitation. From adopted branching, I(402|g)|?0.03 from 1284 level is
186W 5cG expected.
186W cG E(W)$Comparable E|g reported in (n,n'|g) with different placements or
