171HF c 1997Ca39: produced isomer using {+170}Yb(|a,3n) at E|a=50 MeV; enriched
171HF2c target in IGISOL gas chamber; mass-analyzed products deposited on
171HF3c tape for |g monitoring with Ge(Li) detector or implanted in front
171HF4c surface of a stack of two microchannel plates; measured decay of
171HF5c microchannel-plate count rate.
171HF c 2000Ye02: produced isomer using the {+175}Lu(p,5n) reaction with
171HF2c E(p)=55 MeV; on-line laser spectroscopy

171HF cL %IT,%EC+%B+$the microchannel plates (1997Ca39) are sensitive to
171HF2cL |g rays, low-energy electrons and x rays, so it is unclear whether this
171HF3cL isomer decays by IT or |e decay or both. However, the analogous
171HF4cL isomer in {+169}Yb exhibits %IT=100. Also, significant |e decay from
171HF5cL this 1/2[521] level to the 79 s, 1/2[541] isomer at 71.1 keV in
171HF6cL {+171}Lu should have been evident in the measured activity decay
171HF7cL curve, but was not. Consequently, it seems likely that %IT=100 for
171HFxcL this level.

171HF cG E from level energy difference in Adopted Levels.
171HF cG M if %IT(22 level) exceeds about 0.1%, RUL requires |DJ|<3
171HF2cG for this transition; even if it were |?100%, the reduced transition
171HF3cG probability would be unreasonably small if |DJ<3.
