170W  C  Sources produced by 159TB(20NE,9N), E AP 180 MEV (1975ST02);
170W 2C  1-GEV protons on TL (1974BE59); 141PR+32S, E(32S) AP 178 MEV
170W 3C  (1992ME10); granddaughter of 170IR produced via 144SM(31P,5N) at
170W 4C  150 MEV (2001KI10).
170W  C  2001KI10: SOURCE FROM DECAY OF 170IR PRODUCED IN 144SM(31P,5N), E=150
170W 2C MEV; ^CAESAR array of six COMPTON-suppressed Ge detectors,
170W 2C superconducting solenoid electron spectrometer; measured EG
170W 3C  (EG=30-2000), IG, ICE, GG coin, GG(t) and GG(|q) (6 angles);
170W 4C  band-mixing model calculations.
170W 5C See also 1998KI14 for preliminary report of this study.
170W C 1992ME10: measured EG, IG, GG coin, G-XK coin.
170W C The adopted decay scheme is that of 2001KI10; it is much more extensive
170W 2C than and consistent with those of 1992ME10 and 1975ST02,
170W 3C but differs from that of 1974BE59. The EC branching deduced from
170W 4C intensity imbalance at each level in this decay scheme is clearly
170W 5C an unreliable predictor of level JPI, since it varies
170W 6C greatly depending on the number of transitions included in the scheme,
170W 7C and is also somewhat dependent on whether RI is taken from 1992ME10
170W 8C or from 2001KI10. The range of JPI values that appear to be fed is
170W 9C inconsistent with the assumption of a unique JPI for the parent,
170W AC but no isomer of 170RE is known at present. Q(EC) is large (8.4 MEV)
170W BC but the highest-energy level known to be populated lies at 2650 KEV.
170W BC This, combined with the exclusion of EG>2000 transitions probably
170W CC results in a very incomplete decay scheme, rendering the deduced LOGFT
170W DC values meaningless. A remeasurement of this decay including EG>2 MEV
170W EC appears to be needed.
170W CE IE,LOGFT$IE values deduced from intensity imbalance at each level are
170W 2CE given for completeness only; they do not lead to meaningful LOGFT
170W 3CE values, possibly due to an incomplete decay scheme (see general comment
170W 4CE on decay scheme), so LOGFT values are not considered to provide useful
170W 5CE arguments for JPI assignments. The completeness of the scheme
170W 5CE can significantly affect conclusions concerning which
170W 6CE levels are fed in this decay. For example, based on all transitions
170W 7CE reported in 2001KI10, significant feeding occurs from the (5+) parent
170W 8CE to levels with JPI from 2+ to 8+, but the 157 (2+) and 462 (4+) levels
170W 9CE do not appear to be fed at all. However, if one were to consider only
170W ACE the 8 transitions reported in 1992ME10, the IG data from 1992ME10 and
170W BCE 2001KI10 would imply non-zero EC branches to both levels, viz.,
170W CCE 15% {I4} and 9% {I4}, respectively, to the 2+ 157 level, and 23% {I5}
170W DCE and 14.7% {I24}, respectively, to the (4)+ 462 level.
170W CG E From 2001KI10, except as noted. Uncertainties are reported
170W 2CG to be LE 0.2 KEV for most lines; the evaluator has assigned
170W 3CG |DE{-|g}=0.2 to all EG. Data from 1992ME10 are in excellent
170W 4CG agreement except for the two highest energy lines reported in 1992ME10.
170W 5CG Note that the experiment of 2001KI10 was unable to observe EG>2000.
170W CG RI Photon intensities from 2001KI10 relative to
170W 2CG I(157G)=100 3; from GG coin total projection spectrum measured between
170W 3CG beam bursts, EG>2000 excluded (singles spectrum IG not reported).
170W 4CG Note that singles spectrum data from 1992ME10 are in some cases
170W 5CG significantly different from those in 2001KI10; consequently, IG data
170W 6CG from 1992ME10 are also indicated (in comments on the relevant
170W 7CG transitions).
