General Comments:

1997Be70: 86Ga produced and identified in 9Be(238U,F) reaction at E=750 MeV/nucleon at GSI. Identification by Fragment-Recoil Separator (FRS) and time-of-flight. α total of four events were assigned to 86Ga.

2013Mi19, 2014Gr03: proton beam was provided by the Oak Ridge Isochronous Cyclotron (ORIC) at the HRIBF-ORNL facility. Target=UCx. Mass analyzed ions of 86Ga were extracted using Resonant Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS). Pure 86Ga beam was then sent to the Low-energy Radioactive Ion Beam Spectroscopy Station (LeRIBSS) and implanted in a moving tape collector (MTC). Measured Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, βγ-coin, nγ-coin, half-life of 86Ga, Pn, P2n using two HPGe Clover detectors, two plastic scintillation counters for β, and an array of 48 3He ionization chambers for neutron detection. Comparison of measured half-life, P1n and P2n with predictions from several calculations such as FRDM+QRPA, FRDM+QRPA2, DF3a+CQRPA, DF3a+CQRPA+fragmentation of β strength; FRDM=finite range droplet model, CQRPA=continuum quasiparticle random phase approximation; DF=density functional.

2014XuZZ (thesis): 86Ga produced in 9Be(238U,F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, and separated using BigRIPS and ZeroDegree spectrometers at RIBF-RIKEN facility, followed by β and γ counting using EURICA array for γ rays. Measured half-life of decay of 86Ga by (86Ga implants)β-correlated events, and by β(215.5γ)-coin decay curve. According to Fig. 3.7 showing a plot of yields of different isotopes, a large number of events were assigned to 86Ga.

2023Yo04,2019Yo03,2020ToZY: 86Ga produced in the 9Be(238U,F) reaction at E(238U)=345 MeV/nucleon on a 4-mm thick 9Be production target followed by the separation and identification of fragments of interest by α/Q on the basis of magnetic rigidity Bρ, time-of-flight (tof) and energy loss (ΔE) using the BigRIPS in-flight separator, plastic scintillation counters, and position-sensitive parallel-plate avalanche counters (PPACs), finally implanted into active stoppers: AIDA in one run (described in 2020ToZY), and WAS3Abi in a second run (2019Yo03), both consisting of double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSDs) at the RIBF-RIKEN facility. Measured Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, Iβ, E(n), I(n), ion-β correlations, (neutron)ion-β-coin, nβγ-coin, (2n)βγ-coin, γγ-coin using two clover HPGe detectors for γ rays, and the BRIKEN detector consisting of 140 proportional counters filled with 3He gas for neutrons. Deduced half-life of 86Ga decay, %β-n or P1n, %β-2n or P2n, and the decays of 86Ga to 86Ge, 85Ge, and 84Ge. Also, deduced a 0.32-μs isomer in 86Ga

Evaluators’ note: 2019Yo03 and 2020ToZY provide results from two different runs carried out at BRIKEN-RIKEN facility, with independent analysis methodology (per e-mail communications with J.L. Tain and α. Tolosa-Delgado, January 14-18, 2023). 2023Yo04 presents common results from the two runs superseding the previous reports.

Q-value: Estimated uncertainties (2021Wa16): 590 for Q(β-)=590, 400 for S(n), 640 for, 570 for Q(α)=570.

Q-value: S(2n)=5810 400, S(2p)=34620 640, Q(β-n)=11290 400 (syst, 2021Wa16). Q(β-2n)=8250 400 (syst), Q(β-3n)=3000 400 (syst), deduced by evaluators from relevant mass excess values in 2021Wa16

-n$ from 2023Yo04, based on (implants)(1n)β-correlated events and a methodology described by 2018Ra27; authors’ reported value is 59.5 21(stat) 18(syst); uncertainties added in quadrature. Authors’ %β-n value is weighted average of two measurements: 57 6 in one run and 59.9 23 in the second run. Others: 60 10 (2013Mi19, βn-coin) and 74 29 (2014XuZZ, implants-β and implants-n) are in agreement but less precise.

97.8  97.8E(γ): uncertainty of 0.5 keV assigned by evaluators
M(γ): 2023Yo04 assumed E2 uncertainty in analogy with an isomer in 92Rb, and assuming spherical shape for both the nuclei.
