Calculations:
Equilibrium deformation energy: 1988So08
2003Ni10:228Pu was produced when 34S ions bombarded 198Pt at E_beam=170 and 172 MeV (Ec.m.= 141 and 143 MeV). Average E(α)= 7772 35 and Q(α)= 7948 36. These are in agreement with Geiger-Nuttal predictions.
Eα=7810 20 from 208Pb(24Mg,4n)228Pu at beam energy E/α=5.50 MeV/u. Assigned to 228Pu on the basis of genetic correlations with the α decay of known isotope 224U and its daughter products (1994An02,1994Ye08)
