2007KuZW,2005KuZU: 199Os was produced by the in-flight fragmentation of relativistic heavy projectiles. The beam was 208Pb at 1 GeV/α impinging on a 9Be target. Fragment Recoil Separator (FRS) was used to identify 199Os residues. The 199Os nuclei were implanted into an array of four double-sided silicon strip detectors with a surface of 25 cm2, 1 mm thickness each. The half-life was deduced from position-time correlations between the implanted fragments and the subsequent β decay. 2007KuZW supersedes 2005KuZU
