Lifetime measurements in the ground-state band in 104Pd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Zr(12C, 4n)104Pd, E=55 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level T1/2 by recoil distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method and differential decay-curve method (DDCM) using 12 HPGe detectors and Cologne coincidence-plunger device at the FN tandem accelerator of the University of Cologne. 104Pd; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2 of levels up to 12+ in the g.s. yrast band, B(E2). Comparison with large-scale shell-model calculations (LSSM) with SR88MHJM interaction, and with available previous experimental values.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 96,98,100,102,104,106Pd; calculated energy(first 4+)/energy(first 2+), B(E2)(first 4+)/B(E2)(first 2+), excitation energies and B(E2) up to 10+ in the g.s. band. 104Pd; calculated Eγ and B(E2) for levels up to 26+ in the g.s. band, occupation numbers for first 8+, 10+ and 12+, and second 10+ levels. Large-scale shell-model calculations (LSSM) with SR88MHJM interaction. Comparison with available experimental data.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(140Nd, 140Nd'), E=4.62 MeV/nucleon, [140Nd beam from Ta(p, X), E=1.4 GeV at HIE-ISOLDE-CERN, and isotopic selection by RILIS and REXEBIS]; measured Eγ, Iγ, scattered particles, (particle)γ- and (particle)γγ-coin using Miniball array and double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSD). 140Nd; deduced levels, J, π, Coulomb excitation cross sections, B(E2), B(E3), B(M1) by analyzing data using multistep Coulomb-excitation least-squares fitting code GOSIA, identification of the third 2+ state as the main fragment of the one-quadrupole-phonon proton-neutron mixed-symmetry state, and degree of F-spin mixing. Systematics of B(M1) strengths for N=80 isotones of 132Te, 134Xe, 136Ba, 138Ce and 140Nd, and compared with theoretical predictions.

Quadrupole deformation of 130Xe measured in a Coulomb-excitation experiment

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 94Mo(130Xe, 130Xe'), E=4.195 MeV/nucleon from HIE-ISOLDE-CERN linear accelerator; measured projectile-and target-like particles using a segmented double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSSD), Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ) (particle)γ- and (particle)(particle)γ-coin using Miniball array of 23 HPGe detectors. Measured Coulomb excitation yields analyzed using GOSIA least-squares fitting code. 130Xe; deduced levels, J, π, E2 and M1 matrix elements, B(E2), B(M1), spectroscopic quadrupole moments (Q) for the first 2+ and 4+ states and second 2+ state, and shape parameters for the 0+ ground state. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with several theoretical model calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 130Xe; calculated levels, J, π using general Bohr Hamiltonian with the mean-field theory and Universal Nuclear Energy Density Functional (UNEDF0), shell-model with the GCN50:82 and SN100PN interactions, Davydov-Filippov and γ-soft phenomenological models; calculated quadrupole shape invariants for 0+ ground state and the first 2+ state using general Bohr Hamiltonian (GBH) model. Comparison with experimental data.

Cross-shell excitations from the fp shell: Lifetime measurements in 61Zn

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 40Ca(24Mg, n2p), E=77 MeV; 58Ni(α, n), E=19 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ), level half-lives by recoil-distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method using Cologne plunger device and an array of 12 HPGe detectors, and by γγ(t) electronic fast timing technique using eight HPGe detectors and eight LaBr3:Ce detectors at the Tandem accelerator facility of the University of Cologne. 61Zn; deduced high-spin levels, nano-second isomers, J, π, multipolarities, mixing ratios, B(E2), B(E1), B(M1), B(M2), configurations, deformation. Comparison with shell-model calculations using jj44b, GXPF1, GXPF1A, and GXPF1Br+VMU interactions.

Isomers and high-spin structures in the N=81 isotones 135Xe and 137Ba

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 238U(136Xe, X), E=1 GeV; 208Pb(136Xe, X), E=930 MeV; 198Pt(136Xe, X), E=850 MeV; 130Te(11B, 3np)137Ba, E=54 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, γγ-coin, (TKEL)γ-coin, half-lives of isomers by γγ(t). Four experiments carried out using 136Xe beam with 208Pb and 238U targets using PRISMA magnetic mass spectrometer and AGATA demonstrator array at Legnaro PIAVE+ALPI accelerator, 136Xe beam with 198Pt target using GAMMASPHERE and CHICO particle detector arrays at LBNL-cyclotron facility, and 11B beam with 130Te target using HORUS array at Cologne FN Tandem accelerator. 135Xe, 137Ba; deduced levels, J, π, isomers, configurations, B(E2). Comparison with shell-model calculations. Systematics of levels and isomers in N=81 nuclides 131Sn, 133Te, 135Xe, 137Ba, 139Ce, 141Nd, 143Sm and 145Gd.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 135Xe, 137Ba; calculated levels, J, π, B(E2) using large-scale shell-model with PQM130 and SN100PN interactions, average proton occupation numbers in each single particle orbit of the gdsh model space. Comparison with experimental data.

High-spin structures in 132Xe and 133Xe and evidence for isomers along the N=79 isotones

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(136Xe, X)132Xe/133Xe, E=6.84 MeV/nucleon from the PIAVE+ALPI accelerator complex at LNL-Legnaro; 198Pt(136Xe, X)132Xe/133Xe, E=6.25 MeV/nucleon from the LBNL cyclotron facility; 130Te(α, nγ), (α, 2nγ), E=19 MeV from Cologne FN Tandem accelerator; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-, (particle)γ-coin using Advanced GAmma Tracking Array (AGATA) in a demonstrator configuration, and magnetic spectrometer PRISMA for particle identification, (particle)γ-coin using Gammasphere array and CHICO gas-detector array, γγ(θ) using HORUS array at Cologne. 132,133Xe; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, half-life of a micro-sec isomer in 133Xe with Jπ=(23/2+), multipolarities, mixing ratios. Comparison with shell-model calculations using PQM130 and SN100PN interactions. Systematics of level energies in N=78 and 79 isotones from Z=50 to 64, and even-A A=120-136 Xe isotopes.
