LogFT Help

The LogFT web application is used to calculate β- and EC/β+ decay logft values. To do so, the parent Elevel, T1/2, Q-value, daughter Elevel and transition intensity inputs in the form should be filled in. One should also select the decay mode, that is, β- or EC/β+.

The Q-value corresponds to the energy difference between the ground state of the parent and the ground state of the daughter nuclei.

The transition intensity is the absolute intensity to the specified daughter nucleus level per 100 decays of the parent nucleus. For a EC/β+ decay mode, the separate electron capture and β+ intensities will be shown as a result.

Uncertainties must be entered in the Nuclear Data Sheets style. For example, a level energy known to be 200 ± 0.45 keV should be entered as Elevel = 200.00 and ΔElevel = 45, respectively.

The calculator's output can be switched between NDS and standard format, using the Uncertainty Output Format toggles. Changing these does not affect how the calculator accepts input. LogFT still requires NDS-formatted inputs to function correctly.
