Stabilization of prolate deformation at high spin in ⁷⁵Kr

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁴⁰Ca(⁴⁰Ca, n4p), E=180, 185 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO) using EUROBALL and ISIS arrays and Neutron Wall at Legnaro facility. ⁷⁵Kr; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, branching ratios, bands, signature splittings, configurations, potential energy surfaces. Comparison with cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky (CNS) calculations. No evidence for oblate-prolate shape coexistence at high spins.
