Measurement of the 76Ge(n, γ) cross section at the n_TOF facility at CERN

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 76Ge(n, γ), E=0.001-100 keV; measured prompt capture Eγ, Iγ, yields using four deuterated benzene (C6D6) liquid scintillators, time-of-flight for the neutrons at the n_TOF-CERN facility. 77Ge; deduced energies and resonance strengths (capture kernels) of 41 resonances from E(n)=0.551 keV to 51.7 keV, Maxwellian-averaged neutron capture cross sections for kT=5-100 keV and E(n)<52 keV, and compared with theoretical predictions from TALYS 1.9, ENDF-B/VIII and NON-SMOKER 5.3. R-matrix analysis of neutron-resonance spectrum using multilevel, multichannel SAMMY code. Comparison of neutron capture cross section from SAMMY resonance with ENDF/BVIII. Relevance to neutrinoless double β- decay of 76Ge, and 76Ge production during s-process nucleosynthesis.
