Enriched targets, Ge detectors, parallel-plate avalanche gas counters.

Triaxiality in selenium-76

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(76Se, 76Se'), E=3.55, 4.07 MeV/nucleon; measured scattered beam- and target-like nuclei, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin using the JANUS silicon detector array for Coulomb excitation and SeGA array for γ detection at the NSCL-MSU facility. 76Se; deduced levels, Coulomb excitation yields, reduced E2 and M1 matrix elements, B(E2), B(M1), spectroscopic quadrupole moments. GOSIA least-squares fit analysis. Systematics of <Q2> and <δ> experimental and theoretical values for 74,76,78,80,82Se. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with shell model calculations using jj44b and JUN45 interactions.

Inelastic neutron scattering studies of 76Se

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 76Se(n, n'), E=2.0-3.5 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), level half-lives by DSAM, cross section for the population of 2604 keV, 0+ state at the University of Kentucky Accelerator Laboratory (UKAL). 76Se; deduced levels, J, π, branching ratios, multipole mixing ratios, B(E2), B(M1), B(E1) and B(E3). Comparison with large-scale shell model, and the interacting boson model calculations, and with previous experimental data. Comparison of σ for 2604-keV state with theoretical cross sections calculated with the code CINDY. Systematics of low-lying positive-parity band structures and E2 transition strengths in 74,76Ge, 76Se, 78Kr.
