Normal and intruder configurations in 34Si populated in the β- decay of 34Mg and 34Al
RADIOACTIVITY 34Mg, 34,34mAl(β-), (β-n)[from U(p, X), E=1 GeV pulsed beam from ISOLDE-CERN, followed by selective ionization using the RILIS technique, and A=34 separation using the ISOLDE General Purpose Separator]; measured Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, βγ-, γγ- and βγγ-coin, half-lives of decays of 34Al and 34mAl, half-life of excited 0+ state in 34Si by β(E0)(t), deduced %β-n or Pn. 34Si; deduced levels, J, π, β feedings, logft, B(E2), configurations, intruder configurations, absence of triaxial deformation in 34Si. Discussed Mixing between the first and second 0+ states in 34Si. Comparison with large scale shell-model calculations using the SDPF-U-MIX interaction. Systematics of energies of 4- and 5- states in N=20, Z=14-20 even-even nuclei.
