Isomers in 203Tl and core excitations built on a five-nucleon-hole structure

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(209Bi, X)203Tl, E=1450 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγγ-coin. 203Tl; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, T1/2 of high-spin isomeric states, configurations. Half-lives determined by centroid-shift method for ns isomers and by variation with time of the cumulative intensity for υs isomers. Observed octupole core excitations built on a five-nucleon hole configuration. Comparison with shell-model calculations employing the KHH7B effective interaction. Gammasphere array with 100 detectors at ATLAS accelerator (ANL).
