Lifetime measurements to investigate γ softness in 198Pt and 200Pt

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 198Pt(18O, 18O), (18O, 16O)200Pt, E=80 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. 198,200Pt; deduced γ-ray energies and relative intensities, initial and final states J, π, level T1/2 using the recoil distance Doppler shift (RDDS) and the fast-timing (FT) methods, B(E2). Comparison with a mapped interacting boson model with input from the microscopic self-consistent mean-field calculation using a Gogny interaction and to the O(6) limit of the interacting boson model. The Cologne 10 MV FN-Tandem accelerator and the Cologne CATHEDRAL (Coincidence detector Array at the Tandem accelerator for High Efficiency Doppler shift Recoil and LaBr fast-timing measurements) setup at the Institut fur Kernphysik (IKP), Universitat zu Koln.
