E2 decay characteristics of the M1 scissors mode of ¹⁵²Sm

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁵²Sm(polarized γ, γ'), E=3 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(polarization azimuthal asymmetry) by nuclear resonance fluorescence (NRF) method using four HPGe detectors at the HIγS facility at TUNL. ¹⁵²Sm; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E1), γ-branching ratios to the ground state and the first 2+ state, E2/M1 multipole mixing ratios, B(E2), summed scissors mode B(M1). Comparison with predictions of interacting boson model-2 (IBM-2); predicted energy and transition strength of the 2+ mixed-symmetry state.
