NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹²C(¹³⁶Xe, ¹⁴⁰Ba)⁸Be, E=500, 546 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-, γγ-coin using AGATA demonstrator array at LNL, Legnaro. ¹⁴⁰Ba; deduced levels, J, π, energy and cross section of 2+ mixed-symmetry state. ¹³⁹Ba; observed γ rays populated in ¹²C(¹³⁶Xe, ¹³⁹Ba*)⁴He+αn.
