Search for the population of the 12Be isomeric 02+ state in the decay of 13Be
RADIOACTIVITY 13Be(n) [from 9Be(18O, X)14Be, E=78 MeV/nucleon; 9Be(14Be, n)13Be, E not given]; measured decay products, En, In, Eγ, Iγ; deduced γ-ray spectrum, nonobservation of 511 keV γ-rays in the delayed singles CAESAR data set the most stringent upper limit (6%) for the population of the 02+ state in 12Be from the neutron emission of the 13Be 500 keV p-wave resonance. The Modular Neutron Array (MoNA) and CAESium-iodide scintillator ARray (CAESAR) at the Coupled Cyclotron Facility of the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University.
