Large Isospin Asymmetry in ²²Si/²²O Mirror Gamow-Teller Transitions Reveals the Halo Structure of ²²Al

RADIOACTIVITY ²²Si(β⁺p) [from ⁹Be(²⁸Si, X), E=75.8 MeV/nucleon]; measured decay products, Ep, Ip. ²²Al; deduced level energies, J, π, log ft, mirror energy differences (MED) as an asymmetry in excitation energy defined by the differences between the excitation energies of analog states for the mirror nuclei. Comparison with theoretical calculations.
