Quadrupole collectivity in 42Ca from low-energy Coulomb excitation with AGATA

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au, 208Pb(42Ca, 42Ca'), E=170 MeV from Tandem XPU accelerator at INFN-LNL, Legnaro; measured Eγ, Iγ, (scattered 42Ca)γ-coin, γγ-coin, γ-ray yields and Coulomb excitation σ, σ(θ) using AGATA array for γ rays and DANTE array for particles. 42Ca; deduced levels, E2 and M1 matrix elements, and diagonal E2 matrix elements from GOSIA analysis of Coulomb excitation yields, B(E2), B(M1), spectroscopic quadrupole moments for the first and second 2+ states. Comparisons with previous experimental results, and with large-scale shell-model (SM), beyond-mean-field (BMF) calculations, and with α+38Ar orthogonality condition model (OCM) predictions.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(32S, 2p), E=80 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin using EAGLE array of 15 Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors at the Heavy Ion Laboratory, University of Warsaw. 42Ca; deduced levels.

RADIOACTIVITY 42,42mSc(β+)[from 12C(32S, np), E=80 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 42Ca; deduced levels, γ-branching ratios.
