Cross-section measurements for the ⁵⁷Fe(n, nγ)⁵⁷Fe and ⁵⁷Fe(n, 2nγ)⁵⁶Fe reactions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁵⁷Fe(n, n'γ), (n, 2nγ), E=0.4-18 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ-production σ(E) using TOF and Gamma Array for Inelastic Neutron Scattering spectrometer (GAINS) at GELINA neutron source of EC-JRC Geel facility. ^56,57Fe; deduced level σ(E), γ production σ(E) and γ-branching ratios. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with TALYS and EMPIRE theoretical calculations. Inferred γ-production σ(E) for the 14.4-keV transition in ⁵⁷Fe, and the total inelastic cross section from theoretical considerations. Relevance to CIELO and CHANDA projects.
